i download a crack for a program, and scanned it with both avg and nod32 to see if any had picked up viruses on the crack. i found that avg had picked out that the crack had a virus (Trojan) and that nod32 detected that there was nothing wrong with the file. which one do i trust avg or nod32.

I personally would go with nod32, I've heard that AVG has a habit of picking up cracks as trojans. Also I had AVG anti-virus a couple of years ago and it missed a virus which nuked my computer so since then I don't trust them at all. If you're worried I'd suggest maybe downloading some other anti-spyware programs and running it through them or just not installing the cracked program at all.

btw I'm not an IT professional and there are some really knowledgeable members on this board that can probably offer better advice then me ;)

There is a site that can scan with about 7 or 8 ? Programs to help you decide , I would lean towards Nod even tho I'v never used it but have read glowing reviews about it on this forum .

You just upload the file in question and it scans with a few different programs .

I know for a fact that AVG anti-virus is deliberately targeting keygenerators as having trojans when they do not. They think their doing the corporate community a favor, because if you are setup to scan at night when your pc is on 24/7, all your keys will eventually get quarantined and after 30days or what ever you have set for the quarantine hold time they will be deleted. AVG doesn't inform you in the morning it has quarantined a bunch of your keys and they hope you will not notice and they will be deleted.

I once gave Grisoft the run of my computer and trusted them, but I would not touch any of their software with a virtual 10 foot pole now.

Definitely Nod32 over AVG. AVG really killed my system last time, with its poor security. I'm using avast! anti virus though, with a weekly scan from Spybot S&D.

Yes, Nod32 better then AVG. AVG didn't found any viruses when I used it and later my system was crashed and I had to reinstall my OS. Before reinstalling I decided to try Nod and it found a lot of viruses. Now I haven't any problem with NOD32 and I know my computer is better protected than ever before.

Go with Nod32 i've been using it for about 3 years now on my comp and haven't had one virus since. before that i used Norton which was shit it slowed down my computer and i had to format every 3 months because of spyware or viruses

i have the same advice everyone here has told you AVG has a lot of false positives not an Kapersky are a lot more respected on warzes forums i ee a lot of people get flamed because they tell an uploader that a certain keygen has a trojan then post a screenshot of avg detecting it
