Good luck England, it's a fantastic performance just being there and good luck with the final.

I have to be honest I don't think you're strong enough to beat the RSA but like I've said elsewhere I've got pretty much everything else wrong in this competition.

If it's any gauge the Argentinians totally tonked France last night and if memory serves RSA won their semi a bit easier than you chaps did.

Anyhow enjoy the game and good luck.

Yeah, we got lucky, like. I don't like the tactic tho'. It certainly gets us some wins but it's not the most entertaining rugby to watch.

I am not convinced Johnny was 100% - his kicking was not strong. That said it was a hell of risk by the S Africans to play with a crocked Montgomerry. I appreciate his kicking is good but the young lad Steyn was not exactly poor at that either and to have only 14 mobile people on the park was a bit of a risk if England had been able to find a way through.

To be honest Engerland were pretty awful in the Group stages and played two good games to get to the final - but both of those games involved keeping the ball in the middle of the park and grinding out nerve racking narrow wins 1 try in three games is not brilliant. Ashton is going to have to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to get his backs moving again.

I think the big stars have been the Argentinas, they must be in with a shout of getting an invite to one of the annual tournaments.

It would make sence to have a Southern 4 Nations - A 7 Nations is a bit of a commitment - especially as we have Romania and Georgia up and coming.

also on current form Argentuna would tank us all.

Hoi Les, great to see the President on the players shoulder's holding the cup in the air.

Not that long ago that would have been unpossible.

Fantastic to see.

I think their ambition is to make it a 4 in the southern hemisphere. They've shown they could compete, at least they could just now.

Well maybe if they were taking him to a lynching like it might have been possible.

I thought they won it under unfortunate circumstances the first time (food poisoned Kiwis etc.) but this time S. Africa have been the form side and thoroughly deserved it.

Mildly chuffed we ran Argentina so close considering what they did to other teams.

Well done South Africa.

You have been consistently the best team throughout the tournament, and thoroughly deserved to win the trophy.

Congratulations.

The match wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't a rout. We gave away some cheap penalties which was a shame. You didn't give away anything, especially in the lineout, but oh wouldn't it have been fun if that try had been given.... :sly:

Not sure Wilkerson would have got the conversion the way he was kicking but it would certainly have made it exciting. If only he had got his foot up from the chalk it would have made it hard for the TV ref to not award.

Yup - if he had a size 8 boot instead of a size 10 it might have been. Such are the breaks. If the ref in Russia had his specs on Maclaren might not be getting a doing in the press.
