I expect many sites fo follow suit in the next few days .....

"Registrations through invitations are disabled indefinitely. The invite system is disabled too, and all invitations sent and not used are revoked and cancelled. Please don't send us emails or contact support to ask them when invites are going to be open again, or to beg for ways to let your friends in. We simply don't know when we will allow new users to come in and we will ignore any email regarding this matter."

Wow, glad I am at TL. Its one of my favorites.

I am ready for the recession... I will have to turn to SoulSeek for music but after just downloading it seems alright as long as we all chill in there.

invites have been closed for over a week now

but due to the amount of users trading invites we have desided not to open them again

But when you disabled invites before you never said they would be disabled "permanently" and if memory serves you never revoked invites either.

So what happened with Oink has nothing to with this ?

I absolutely agree with that decision. It's calm, fair, firm and for the benefit of the Community. Well done, TL!;)

I dont think its not about Oink closure. I dont think the problem for thos organisations and the police who work after those things its getting an acc. there. I mean if I & you got one then they surely got one before both of us ;) The problem is finding the source. If TL has got a trustable source then its ok... In fact my most logical opinion to why Oink was put down was that there was someone not-trusted in the high grades.

If noone talked then the police wouldnt have from where the hell to get their info.. Right?

doesnt matter how much we/others try hiding who we are. There are always small traces left lying around which can never be covered up. So doesnt really mean anyone ratted them out from the high ups.

Im not sure why people knock TL...
I personally consider it one of my few fav sites to use.

The key is small number of commited users that will actually contribute. Not these huge super trackers with 50000 users that only check their account once a month to prevent it from being purged.

TL is BETTER than ScT and FTN in content...

I just wonder if TL will be the next site targeted. So far they have hit the big name sites. I see TL as the next one. I hope this is not true since it is a great site, but the number of members makes it a high rated target in my opinion.

I do not agree with you guys, TL invites were mostly traded at very small scope and among torrent noobs.

Here TL is a freebie, given away to anybody who requests it so I dont think the trading is something you should be aware of ;]

But anyways hopefuly TL is safer now;]

Well I've always heard that if it was for the excessive amount of invites TL would be not much different then sites like FTN and ScT. I guess we'll find out.

It better not end up like supernova, I use it more often than any other tracker.

Disabling the invites is probably a good thing since TL currently has more than 200,000 members, surpassing even the Oink user base, which I thought was very large in its own right.

TL is a great and old tracker...content n speed always good there...hope they don't get closed...It's like the father of trackers really. It's a good thing they have close signups n invites indefinitely...too many users there.
