Verizon Fios OMG

This is kind of off topic in BT but this is the only forum I use so here it goes. I am a happy Verizon Fios customer (20mbps down, 5mbps up) and it seems like things are going to get much better. They are unveiling their 20mbps/20mbps UPLOAD package in new york, new jersey, and Connecticut. This home seed box will be selling for 65 dollars a month, and they have plans to have packages with over 400mbps download in the near future.

It also says in the article they will never limit the connection, they intend to let people use the bandwidth they pay for. That sounds like no traffic shaping to me!!

i have the 20/5 fios and i love it no problem seeding anywhere cant wait to try the 20/20

i can't wait until fios is available in my area. i pay 60 a month for comcast and get nothing near as fast as that - and now they've started blocking torrent traffic!

I'm stealing the 20mb/2mb business class from Comcast. It's great, but I do notice the traffic shaping. It's not as bad as I thought it would be and usually it only happens when I have just a few torrents running.

But if i have something new that I've added and I'm seeding to maybe 4 or 5 sites with a ton of peers - it maxes the line. With both cable modems running, I get 360KBs up.

yea, I'll ditch comcast as soon as FIOS is available here too. Right now only other thing around is qwest dsl, with basically no upload for more money
