filesize can be a problem on 56k modem (or if you&#39;re downloading quickly on a faster connection)

one of the other forums i use doesn&#39;t have an avatar/sig size limit and some of the people&#39;s avatars/sigs are 1 meg or more

takes me anything up to 20 minutes to load a page (no exaggeration)
