There are some sites that I need to browse for work that only allow IE6. Is there a way to do this in Mac without some kind of virtualization or bootcamp/parallels?

I've tried User Agent Switcher extension for FireFox and the Deboug/User Agent Menu for Safari without success.

Thanks
:)

It's a personal profile site on a corporation's site. The main page loads fine, but after I log in it's where I get the problem.
(I thought IE Tab wasn't available for mac?, can you post a link where I can find it please?)
Thanks.

just looked up IE Tab and didnt realise it was not cross platform...

anyhow found one that does a similar thing: http://www.winandmac.com/tips/fool-sites-that-firefox-is-ie/

Might be helpful...just follow it through

Yes, that refers to the User Agent Switcher Add on I was talking about in my first post... works on many sites, but not on the one i'm trying to browse hehe (it really works on every site and test site i've tried, but not on the one I need it to ).

Thank you anyway.

You need to download all the requirement applications and follow the directions exactly.

Thanks for that link. I've forgotten about this thread lol.
After some time I gave up and had to use crossover (which is kind of the same virtualization -wine- that ies4osx is using)

You can put Safari in dev mode "defaults write com.apple.safari IncludeDebugMenu 1" , then you'll get an extra menu "Develop" where you can specify for browser to simulate IE behavior. However, it will not work if your site is using ActiveX controls.

What an annoying site to require IE. I hope they have a good reason. If the mac version of IE is too old, the only thing I can think of is to use a virtual machine of Windows.
