I like drug related movie + Denzel Washington is my favorite Actor....

The movie is great, the character are all awesome... but i do not like the ending...He is really a bad ass ( The scene where he shot the head of the guy in the market that's "wow"... ), but in the end he become a rat and joined the police to track down Bad cop.......:(

9/10 thought it was an excellent film. I'd say the best gangster movie to come out in years and the best movie I've seen in a long time.

I agree with Mr Nails:
he should have killed that cop. Also how good is the opening scene where he shoots the bloke that's on fire. Pretty powerful start to a movie.

American ganster was just one of those movies that had me glued to the screen on its entirety. I hardly budged from my seat as this biographical movie engrossed with its efficient storytelling. Kudos to Ridley Scott and the Crowe-Washington duo.

i thought the plot had alot of holes in it. it lacked a certain completeness that really turned me off from the movie towards the end. frank lucas never really went through any sort of character devlopment--you never really got to know frank lucas.

although i did enjoy the movie. it had a feel of being slapped together.

yes, i would also agree that blow was better. i think in the end of blow we had all come to really like george jeung (johnny depp). in american gangster, i actually wanted russell crowe to catch his ass

love gangster movies, love drugs movie (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Blow, Trainspotting).
this movie was tooooo long. needed more censor before being released...
