View Full Version : Forum Overload...

I sometimes get thrown out of the forums while reading threads.

http://members.roadfly.com/tite-wad/ranting.gif But I'd say at least 80% of the time it happens when I try to post!

Anybody else notice a similar phenomenon?

You are not alone. There are more strange things going on. I posted yesterday and when I checked it, the post was gone. Later at my work it was back again, twice!. At the current time it has disapeared again.

The only problems I have are the usual 'page not found' and 'mysql / too many connections' errors.
I've seen once that the first post on a new page isn't showing.

I already notified VB, but feel free to post strange problems in this topic. B)

In the "8 ball" topic, Skweeky's post of 19:34 showed up in the main index, but not in the thread itself.
It does now. And no, there wasn't a second page at that time. :)

Tite-wads 20:53 post in the "brain problem" topic isn't showing up for me now either.....

Sounds like the ol' post #15 syndrome - I've seen a lot of that.

You might have a point there. Both Skweeky's and your post are the 16th in the thread. (15th answer)

They generally appear as soon as someone replies again.

(Actually they show up in the reply window.) ;)

Edit: typo

Yup, you're right.
Scribblec's answer in the "holy shit" thread doesn't show up, and it's the 16th one too.

Ron

Bender, did you just post in the holy shit thread?
It was in the list one moment, and gone the next. (couldn't view it however)

I think he's playing - the post count went from 15 to 13 and back to 15 again.

Bender

That was me. ;)

I had to post twice to make Scribblec's post visible in the Holy Shit (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=52788&st=15) thread.
When I deleted my second post, it still was visible; when I deleted my first post, it wasn't viewable again.

Strange.

Sorry, I would have had my reply sooner, but "too many connections" appeared, bumping me off.

I haven't noticed any problems with the board at all.

seems the forum lags sometimes even with just 150-180 users..

Yes, yes, we all have experienced aggrivation with the boards......but has anyone noticed any sort of pattern to it? <_<
As I said in the original post - it seems to occur most often - for me - when I'm posting......is it only me seeing that trend? http://members.roadfly.com/tite-wad/huh.gif

That happens to me a lot too, but I can't say if it happens more often.
Lately, I try to copy everything I'm about to post, so I just have to paste it if the board goes down.
Usually, I can copy it, after pressing "add reply", that's how long posting takes, these days. <_<

Happens quite often during posting, suddenly it slows down. Then you get "Can't connect to website, refresh page etc. etc." and if you have not saved it, you've lost it.
Sometimes I find myself logged out. I was beginning to think that I had said something wrong and been put on moderation!

Perhaps we could all transfer to Lamseys Forum (for example) while the necessary repairs are done?

For the record, Balamm had reported it a day or so ago.

Hmmm, interesting.
I just noticed this.
Mostpart of last night, I could hardly get on the board.
But suddenly it got better.
Actually, it stayed beter, until a couple of minutes ago.
Guess what, there weren't any MODs around the whole night!!
Jetje came online, and BAMMMM!!!! troubles.
The MODs are the cause of it all!!!!

:D :D :D
