Ok so maybe its not the best one, but just list the one you listen to the most. :D

Mine is 98.9 "The Rock" With the Johnny Dare and Murphy show in the morning.

They do some really crazy stuff. http://corporateradiosucksass.com/

They all suck here......it's true, and to think I live in the San Francisco Bay Area - it's a shame the radio market is so poor here.

You are lucky to have something where you live.

But when I do listen to one, it's usually 95.7 The Drive
http://www.z957.com/drive/images/drive_rev_5_01.gif (http://www.z957.com/drive/index.cfm)

I usually just stick to my MP3s and CDs.

Tchau!

We have a new radio station here (south Louisiana) and they are playing 10,000 songs in a row commercial free! I have been listening to it for about a month now and haven't heard one commercial yet. Now granted some of the songs aren't that great but I can put up with a few crappy songs better than annoying commercials. We have it on all day at work and it's awesome.

I'll list cities cuz I can't think of the call letters. Santa Monica,CA has a college station they play good music and their talk programs are very interesting. Las Vegas has the best stations imho. San Diego had a great 80's but it went off :) wonder why Denver had a good one for indie music.
BTW big bank hank I grew up about 20 minutes from Baton Rouge.

Triple J (http://www.abc.net.au/triplej)

The only station I need... it's national, so I get to hear it no matter where I go in this great brown land.
Check out the site if you'd like to hear what music is doing the rounds down under... they have a webfeed for folks not in Oz. B)

triple j, is that the one with a livecam?

Yes, but I'd only bother with it for special events and studio interviews.
Last time I checked thier cam, it was just showing an empty studio... not very enthralling really.

But they DO have audio web feeds 24/7 - not quite live, but near enough.
Oh, and they take email requests from overseas, too... they're very internet friendly.

heh.. they ask their listeners to pimp the station to all their friends.. they call it "beating the drum for the J's"

Looks like I just did my fair share.

Triple J used to be good until about 1999...then loosing merrick and rosso *there went their greatest assets*...The they decided they would go more indie *which was a bad move*...And now all they play is crappy brittish indie and dance...They hardly play any decent Australian music anymore...something they have done so well in the past...I admit i listen to the hottest 100 every year...but thats it sadly...
When i was in brisbane i listened to triple M and now im up in Mackay if i do listen to the radio is is Sea FM....

I think radio stations are for people who don't own CD players. I haven't spent any substantial
amount of time (5 mins.) listening to the radio, of my own free will, for the past 7 years or so.

For those of you in California, if you can recieve a broadcast from KPFA public radio in Berkeley,
Over The Edge is a very...interesting program. Somewhat, sometimes, kind of done by Negativland.
It's also in Real Audio here (http://www.negativland.com/ote_live/index.html). You can find out about the show there too.

I don't listen to FM radio much, but when I do, I usually have it tuned to a Top 40 station called Mix 94.5 (WLRW).

All radio stations suck. They play like 2 songs, then another 40 minutes of annoying commercials... 2 songs, 40 min commercials, repeat. :P

I find that ludicrous. Just become somone listens to the radio doesnt mean they dont own a cd player. Besides, radio is live, and listening to a local station can be very interresting. You can win free stuff, the dj's are funny, and in my city the radio jocks go all over town playing jokes on people and you can hear all that stuff on the radio while your driving or whatever.

What you said doesnt make any sense. That would be like me saying television is for people that dont own dvd players or vcrs. Dvd's are fun to watch but Im not going to sit around watching them all day long, although some people could it would be kind of silly to sit up in your home and watch nothing but dvds and listen to cds and never watch the news or listen to the radio or something thats actaully going to inform you of whats going on outside your little lonely isolated cyberworld.

Anyone have satellite radio? I don't own one myself but my brother installed one in his car and it is amazing. The features are very nice and its fairly easy to learn to use. The only thing is there is a monthly charge because the programming is commercial free. Very cool little toy B)
