I was just wondering what modifications, if any, are needed on a playstation 2 in order to play downloaded games.

you need a dvd burner to burn the games, and a Mod Chip in the Ps2 to play the burned game.

if you really want to get PS2 games, download them from irc. They are a lot of game console games for download. Some good programs used for downloading would be Irc-Ork or mIRC.
