Hey all,

I finally did it, I ordered a server from Leaseweb!

I have a question though...

How long does it take for them to reply, and for me to be able to use it?

Thanks

took 4 hours for mine to get setup. But they quote 24 hours but only during the working week so you might have to wait tll monday.

i used to have a leaseweb. it was my first seedbox. it was very good.
had mine faster than 24 hours.

i just ordered a vectoral to try them out. sadly, they seem to take longer to setup, so i made a bad choice.

ordered it on wed. and was told yesterday that it would be setup by today. still not ready.

You should give dedicated server hosts a week for setup. However, the industry standard is about 24-48 hours. I got a Vectoral server this Wednesday and haven't received any emails about it being setup yet(Friday).

Speeds are very good. They're all on 100mbps switches, unless you order gigabit, so you can usually push 100mbps out of them. Just be sure to stick within whatever bandwidth you purchased though, as overages can be a killer.

What tools do you guys use to monitor the bandwidth? I was thinking about setting up Cacti - but I don't want to install Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc. I guess I could run Apache with MRTG?

great question start, i was also wondering this...

ALSO, will the week setup time be included in my "month" of payment?

LW have a "self service center" where you can view all your bills, change RDNS for each IP and view traffic graphs for each server.

It definitely won't take a week.....I ordered mine at noon EST and had my login the next morning. If you ordered one of their stock servers it shouldn't take more than a few days.

Speed depends on which bandwidth package you ordered. They offer "non-burstable" flat-fee packages which are unmetered but the actual speed is limited to either 5, 10 or 100Mbps up/down at any given time. The other package is fully burstable up to 100Mbps but is limited to the monthly bandwidth traffic purchased (500GB, 1000GB or 2000GB).

I have a 10Mbps unmetered package but it's rarely limited to 10Mbps. I've seen upload and download speeds combined max out at 3100 Kilobytes/s or approx 25Megabits/second. Good luck!
