I don´t consider myself as a professional trader, but I have traded two or three times, so I am in the exact sense of the word, a trader (amateur perhaps)... and I did it because it was the only way I could get what I needed and couldn´t find another way. But I´ve given away dozens of invites... and received a number of give aways too. I like more this than trading.

What I never did and never will is trade or giveaway accounts.

Well if you invite a friend just to be nice, and he answers " thank you, btw i got invites to "insert sites here" do you need anyone of those?
Then its not a trade, its just friends sharing invites.
If you go out of your way trying to find a "friend" that have invites to a site you want to join, and then hammer him with invites just so he can give you a invite to the site you want to join.. well i would call that a "trade"

i think that's coz 1/2 of the trader don't participate in anything else than asking for invite or making trade thread. So, obviously many haven't voted yet....just my opinion though...might be wrong.

No, I've never traded invites. All of the invites I have received so far were given to me with no strings attached. I've also given invites to people in the same way because that's what sharing is all about.

There hasn't been a site that I've OMG DESPERATELY WANTED to get into that I'd have to resort to trading. There are always kind people out there--people from nearly every site--who are willing to give someone an invite without getting anything in return. I've seen this happen many times and surely many of you have seen it too. So at this point I find trading unnecessary (for me at least.)

Even if you don't use a mod, if the person doesn't have any Rep points or has very little, make them send first. It comes down to trust, which I think is important for a community to have.

the vast majority of invites ive received have been free. the vast majority of invites ive given away have been free. but sometimes, its been expected that i should give an invite to a site in exchange for an invite i want, and ive been happy to oblige.

im a trader (of invites, not accounts) when i have no other choice, and im happy with that.

all this anti-trader nonsense is bollocks anyway, sometimes swapping invites is necessary to get in to the sites you want.

ive never had a bad experience swapping invites with anyone.

edit2add: ive never traded acconts though, and never would.

IMO, the bad thing about trading is your giving an invite or account to someone on the sole qualification that they have something you want. Since that's all that matters, you could be inviting a cheat or a leecher.

I value my tracker accounts, and I'm fully aware of the risks involved in handing them out to questionable people. Although If I want to get a good standing with my rep here, I can see myself trading some of my useless (or less used) invites in the future.

i only traded once to get into FTN because none of my school friends could find a way into that site. other than that, im privileged enough to have about 75% of my 11th grade class using torrents and trading invites amongst themselves. i guess i got pretty lucky :happy:

No I'm not a trader as it's too risky and i happen to use all my trackers and if I don't I'll let them die. It's just not worth it. I was given an account a very long time ago as my friend was dealing with his real life and packed in torrenting for awhile. The acc he gave me was disabled in a day or so and it was a low level tracker so it just goes to show it just ain't worth it.

Saying that, I've nothing against traders as if they have no good friends online, and want other trackers they obviously trade to get what they want.

I think trading is ridiciulos but whatever will be will be.....
