Your video card is going to be your limiting factor I think. I'm buying a new 8800GT, I have a 7800GTX right now but I'm not even going to attempt to run it, but I play COD4 just fine.

I heard that even with dual 8800gtx's and a quad core the game still wont run smoothly at the highest settings. I'd wait to buy new hardware

I have 2, 7900GTX's running in SLI and it still lags like crazy. Total bullshit.

The graphics aren't even all that. :ermm:

As for CoD4, I can run it on the highest settings while utilizing only one one of my 7900GTX's. (SLI disabled) I also find the graphics better than Crysis.

for rizzeal, yeoj. I have 8800gtx and it's pretty laggy at times. I have 4gb of ram too (cpu doesn't matter with this game i have heard).

oh, almost forgot, i run it on all-high, maxed rez, 4x AA fine. FPS never drops below 20 (well, in between map-loads/saves, it does)

CPU always matters ,no matter the game. Especially in this game since the CPU is responsible for the large exterior areas. Besides that, a slow CPU downgrades the GPU performance. Otherwise on the online benchmarks you would see 2x8800 running on sempron 3000

15-30 fps on medium with x2 4200+, 2GB DDR400, 7900GTX and vista x86. Not worth playing on this rig.

I got the "old" dual core 3Ghz, 7950 GX2, 4 GB RAM and I run it on medium. I got lag in a few areas but it does not affect the game play much.

I liked the game, but won't buy it before I get my new system. After reading about the multi player it seems to be worth the money.

What do you mean maxed rez? I'm playing it at 1680x1050 no AA and settings on medium and it gets sluggish when there is shit flying around all over. especially near the end.

I don't know if you guys were having this problem though but near the end when you're on the carrier the frames drop to shit and I had to switch all the settings to low so I could actually finish the game.

I have 1 8800GTX and I run it fine on High with no AA at 1680x1050 in DX9. Im at a steady 20 to 35 FPS.

Rest of my system:

E6600 @ 2.8ghz
2gb G.Skill DDR2 800
500gb Seagate SATA
700Watt PSU

You wont run this game maxed smooth at 60fps for at least a couple of months. There supposed to unlock VeryHigh, UltraHigh, Extreme through patches because there is no possible way any computer can run it now. The engine is very scalable.

Your processor is bottlenecking your video card.
PD's start bottlenecking around a Nvidia 7900.

My thoughts, exactly - and very similar setup, well before you upgraded to x2 8800GTX's!

The game runs fine for me with minimal slow down, only briefly in high action areas. :D @ 1360 x 768, it looks neato on a 32" LCD TV!

I would certainly consider buying it, as the multiplayer sounds a blast! :D

It's mad that this game can't be run on 3 8800 i think the industry is getting greedy now why should gamers have to folk out so much money every year or two just to play the latest titles on max i always thought a topend card is an investment for the future so you don't have to upgrade every time a new games comes into the shops. one top end card should at least last a few good years and keep up with the latest games for those good few years why do nvidia and amd/ati make such crappy cards that they can't keep up with these demanding titles they have the knowledge and technology yet they say different things to the public. i think all this competion bullshit should start changing and for once make a top end card run a game at max settings .

They can send a man to the moon but not make games run properly greedy C***s i know amd/ati or nvidia is not involved in any sort of space program

Crysis is a game who is built to force people to upgrade their PC...This game is very demanding, and i suggest you to wait some time, when grapcihs card will be cheaper and when will come new,and then when you buy a lot better card, you can play with satisfaction, and if you can"t wait,i suggest you to get some money, and REALY upgrade you sistem

Well, my laptop can't run any game post 2003 probably

My friend upgraded his video card less than a year ago for 1200 bucks, and he can barely run it at the middle of the road settings. I really don't know which video card he has, I don't pay too much attention to computer hardware anymore since I don't do PC games anymore, but it wasn't impressive on those settings. Maybe one day I'll see it on a high quality computer set up.
