1. Go to http://www.simply-click.org/uploadertest/p...2_plaintext.asp (http://www.simply-click.org/uploadertest/pg2_plaintext.asp)
or http://methlab.tech.nu/ and then look for the "Plain Text Version" link.
EDIT: Since the Peer Guardian Database is troubled at the moment you can also go to...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tim.leonard1/pg_plain.htm
2. Copy the IP ranges
3. Then go to C:\Program Files\Kazaa K++\BannedIPs
4. Open the text file
5. Select All, Ctrl+A
6. Paste the new ones, Ctrl+V (thus deleating the old ones)

Keep in mind the PG Database is the best we have at the moment,
though you can add or delete ranges on your own.
You may also go to http://methlab.tech.nu/ and select their
Feedback/Comments link if you wish.

Q: How do I know its working?
A: Its built in, though there is no log yet.

Q: How often should I update the IP's
A: Truth is, that is up to you, though once a week or so is ok.

Q: Does it block the IP's with other P2P programs.
A: No, it only loads with v2.40 and above.

If anyone wants to Pin this, feel free, and I will add to the Q and A when needed.

so by using the peerguardian list we wont be deleting any IPs that only kazzalite may have or do they use their list

The original list in the BannedIPRanges was taken from the PG Database at the time of installation, if I am not mistaken. So you would be updating from the same site.

We all wish, though PG has yet do even do this, and again it only takes a couple of minutes to do it manually. Also I would imagine it would take a pretty large server to do that.

you can also just use the automatic updater made by some dude from the forum
Download Link (http://edward.j.free.fr/downloads/KLite_IP_Updater.zip)
Extract the files to the folder where the bad ip range text file is and run the .bat file. Norton detects it as a "malicious script" but don't worry i have checked the script and all it is trying to do is create a new text file. :D
P.S. should be integrated to the next klite installer along with the other tools.

Quick Question.... Do you add the new Ip ranges to the text file along with the old ones? Or delete the old ones altogether?

After you have selected all the new ips of the web site and copied them, you open the bannedipranges.txt file, select all, delete, paste, save.

note that there is a script to do all of this automatically. you can find more information about it @ http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=56710

the sad fact of it all is, the RIAA is the #1 reason P2P networks are so dammed popular. They have forced the price of individual CD's to damn near $20 US. I think the RIAA is nothing more than legalized "Organized Crime"!

I think it needs to be turned into a proper exe file with a user friendly interface first cos at the moment people don't seem too sure about using .bat and .vbs files which is stupid. i am pretty crap at programming so if anybody is interested in doing the job leave a post or email me.

I have done some asking around at the peer guardian forum and the creator of bluetack online blocklist converter is going to make a downloadable version of it. It will have the ability to download a set of block lists (Peer Guardian's list, DShield block list, Bobs Block list, and possible more as time progresses). With the additional block lists being bunched together into an ever greater block list. This program's goal is to be able to automatically download the lists, but them into the format you want, and update whatever you told it to (like lets say it updates KL, your firewall, and peer guardian). Currently, though, bluetack is looking for input/suggestions on how this should be done and wanting to know what formats should be in the first release and any other suggestions you might have. You can find this thread @ http://mercuria.no-ip.org/pg/index.php?sho...&st=0&#entry614 (http://mercuria.no-ip.org/pg/index.php?showtopic=154&st=0&#entry614)

For anyone who doesnt know or wants to know what the block list converter is can see it there ---> http://www.bluetack.co.uk/convert.html

@mpman2003 I have made an updated download zip file which includes scripts to update KL and PG at the same time and it also includes a read me file to answer most peoples questions. The link can be found in my last post in my thread.

http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=56710

*EDIT* also it seems that aldo @ the dev forum has started making a plugin for KL that will automatically update the block list.
Info --> http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=57529
so we may see this functionality in the next update.

Enjoy

Thanx for your answer hackattack, i have learnt some very interesting info there. Aldo Vargas has just made a proper updater for klite and it looks great too. You can specify the url from which to update or you can simply check a box for it to update from the PeerGuardian DB. Here is the DL link:
http://www.aldostools.com/temp/badipupdater.zip
P.S. I have a little question: What do I have to add to the vbs script or .bat file in YOUR updater so that it opens Klite after the update???

This has been discussed and it is normal but i would not recommend it anymore. Aldo @ the dev forum made a program to do this now(no malicious scripts or scripts at all).

You can find that @ http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?sho...pic=57529&st=15 (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=57529&st=15)

I would also like to note that KLK++ 2.4.2 RC10 is now available. You can more info about that @ http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?sho...pic=57974&st=15 (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=57974&st=15)

Perhaps you could be a little more specific.

If your refering to the batch and scripts, they update the banned IP list in KLite automatically.

If you are refering to Aldo's updater, his also updates the banned IP list but not automatically.

With the progress of the next version (KLiteK++ 2.4.2), it might be better to wait for this if you do not want to mess with the scripts and batch and it will have an IP Updater included with it.

Hope that helps.

Its an Internet Protocol Address. Simply put, it is a set of numbers that every computer has and is used to uniquely identify that computer.

it would look something like this --> 192.164.23.137

You should copy everything that is on that page, exept the first line where it says "Plain Text" and the last line in the bottom where there´s a web adress to peerguardian.
