well what will work is to run BitTorrent over encrypted tunnels such as SSH or VPN. BitTorrent over SSH works, but it will cripple the servers of the SSH providers if you plan to use it permanently. A VPN service such as Relakks or VPNTunnel is a better option, and it is worth a few bucks.

First go to:
http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs
then go to:
http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Avoid_traffic_shaping

it doesn't matter what client you use, regardless if it is utorrent or rtorrent, what I posted above should help.

I've been hacking cablem modems for years. What modem3 are you using? Do you know if your system is DOCSIS 1.0 or 1.1/2.0?

You have no idea what model modem you are using? Look on the botton of your modem and tell me what it has written there. Please do NOT write the mac address or serial number here. Just the manufacturer and model number.

Bell is also throttling torrents @ 30kb/s download speed.

Teksavvy is what you want if you are going the dsl route, they don't mess around with throttling.

They have 2 usage plans: 1) 200GB monthly transfer limit @ 30$/month 2) unlimited @ 40$/month

You can also get newsgroup access with them if you add 4$ extra for a static ip address. Note that newsgroup speed is limited to 100kb/s.

You can reach up to 5Mbit/0.8Mbit speeds with them depending on how close/far you are from the CO.

I think you misunderstood...
He just wants to know what the model # & who the manufacturer is. This has nothing to do with uncapping or getting blacklisted.
