Is there a way to change my log in name without re registering?

It happens automatically when you hit a certain post count. I forgot the details, but I think one syllable from the end of your name is hacked off when you hit 3000 posts, and then when you hit 6000, something is tacked onto the end. VB is working 'round the clock to fix this, but so far he hasn't had much luck.
