Simple really... :)

If I choose a winner now and get their email, once invites are open I can shoot them their invite and there's no wait time (unless it's on their end). This way a person is sure to get in, because if you wait to do a giveaway until after their invite system opens you may choose a winner too late and the site closes back up again.
