whats your story ? :D how has it affected your real life ?

everything was so easy when i used to download from public trackers , search some indexing sites , download and forget it . after a while the download completes .

i go on with my usual stuff , studies etc etc

ok then i moved to private trackers . ok i loved the awesome speed , but began worrying about the uploads , ratios. spending more time in the internetz . filling up my HDD seeding shit i dont need to increase my "ratio" . reading the same old crap in the tracker communitez .

damn . i am gona switch back to public trackers

I had enough time for my real life when i was on public trackers. When moved on to private, had to spend lot of time to find out a suitable torrent to keep my ratio up. Now it's just like what i felt on a public tracker cause i've fair ratios in all trackers and gave up a lot of ratio fascist trackers.

Same here.....I use public tracker for only a month then transfer to private trackers...

I do not have a real life now... Just work, internet, work and internet...Internet is my life... it is my TV, Radio, Phones,School and etc........:) Hate working abroad....

I'm new with this. I always use public trackers. What do I need to join a private tracker and what are the advantages?

Thanks

there are quite a few advantages, but the most important one is: much better speed.

take a look at the open signup thread pinned at the board or read the wiaw thread there and try to get an invite for a site you might like.

in fact all the stickies there will be helpful to you.

You should never pay to join a private tracker. You join private trackers through open signups or get invited by internet "friends".

no, membership on private tracker is and should always be free.

there are trackers who have open signups, which means everyone can register an account.

on the other hand there are tracker that are invite only, which means you have to know a member there and get invited to register.

edit: ups, tristan beat me.
