I have a serious problem with ie.
everytime I try to dl from a bit torrent site a message comes up saying
internet explorer has encountered a problem we need to close, send or don't sent report.
I have tried to uninstall my ie explorer and dl a new one, but this one says a newer version of ie is found on your computer we cannot complete this dl.
all help is welcome

try two things:

1 - ... go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select Internet Explorer, click Change/Remove, then select "Repair Internet Explorer". See if this helps.

OR

2 - The second method to try and correct the problem involves editing the registry and reinstalling Internet Explorer 6.
Start> Run> Regedit

Locate Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}

Modify/Create the Value Data Type and Value Name as detailed below.

Data Type: DWORD // Value Name: IsInstalled
Setting for Value Data: [Change the Value from 1 to 0]
Exit Registry

Once you have made the appropriate registry changes, try downloading and installing Internet Explorer 6.
