I can never find out what are the correct settings for my utorrent with my connection of 10Mbit and 640kb/s. Can any smart people out there help me set up my utorrent once and 4 all.

Thank You! :)

What settings are you having trouble with? Do you want to know what you should put in the maximum upload & download category? With the information you have given that is about the only thing someone could help you with.

You need to be more specific.

I was hoping that someone can do a full set up,or send me a new good link that has the best instructions.

Does this Patched TCPIP.sys (http://www.lvllord.de/) crap even work....does utorret set up properly when i put my speed as 10Mbit. Like is that all i have to do, or do i need to fine tune some things?

Following µTorrent speed guide should be ok for you. Patching the TCPIP.sys will not give you better speed, I'd patch it only if you're experiencing anormaly slow internet browsing. You could also tweak the cache settings if you have disk overload problem or want to reduce HDD reads/writes.

Use a port between 49152 to 65535.. if you are using a routed network make sure you forwarded the ports correctly. Enable the encryption and if you are using XP patch your system so i can allows more connections at the same time.
That's all it can think about atm :mellow:

edit: oh yea.. XP pro is configured to save 20% of your b/w so make sure to disable that..

Disable UPNP Port mapping
Disable DHT and DHT for new torrents

Torrent Options : Global Maximum Number of Connections : 2000
Maximum Number of connected peers per torrents : 250
Number of upload slots per torrent : 250
net.low_cpu = false
net.max_halfopen = 43
peer.disconnect_inactive_intervall = 500
diskio.sparse_files = true
diskio.write_queue_size = 20000 =
peer.lazy_bitfield=true

and you could get banned from some trackers for having DHT on, like TL

Are these settings for my 10Mbit connection & 640 upload speed?

i think they are just some general settings that will help improve your utorrent, in retrospec ive never changed any settings in my utorrent except the the top 3 on that list, and it still goes fine :D

In order to change this... net.max_halfopen = 43...don't i need to patch my tcp?

Are u sure i put nothing for my global maximum upload rate.
Will my downloads be faster, or will i upload more?

Nothing means u should put 0 which equates to unlimited

What benefits to me, putting it 2 zero?

seanbee

There is no benefit per say, it won't make u upload or download any faster, what it does do is that it won't limit your upload/download speed so basically the maximum upload/download utorrent can achieve will be reached - if your ISP provides 1mb up for example and utorrent can achieve 120kb/s then it will, if though you set this value to say 50 then utorrent won't exceed 50kb/s
