What are according to you the best "none hollywood made" movies ever released ?

(I know this question seems pointless, it's just because I live in france, and when i go to the movies, i usualy get exclusively ever some french or hollywood made movies.)

You could try looking around for movies that were presented at the "Sundance Film festival", they're independant movies, some are good (Dogma was one of them)...

@AccesGranted: Welcome and beware the ketchup lovers! ;)

It really depends on what genre you are looking for. Robert redford started sundance and he works in hollywood but he has made and been involved in some great movies. A. The Horse Whisperer
B. Brubaker
C. Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid
D. The Natural
To name a few. Any thing from David Lynch is very good or the Coen brothers. Try these:
No Such Thing
Donnie Darko
Crocodile tears
The Good Girl
Trainspotting
Run Lola Run - german
Beyond silence - german
Bandits - German
The business of strangers
Ghost dog
That last film is by Jim Jarmusch most of his movies are non-hollywood type productions. B)
