Seeding files slows the HDD down right? By how much? I know servers are in RAID arrays to get maximum performance so I am thinking I would best be with a RAID array if I'm going to be seeding a lot. If I'm seeding "Torrent A" on 5 different trackers, it should use less HDD resources than if I seeded 5 different torrents on 5 different trackers, or is it the same since it is amount of bandwidth being used?

if your connection is so slow, that is the bottleneck and improving your HDD power wont help it.

five different torrents use more hd space than one torrent, that's right. still don't understand your question.

you know your max upload speed and you know your hd speed. what's the problem?

If u are using Azureus, it may be the culprit cuz Azureus usually consumes hell lot of memory/system resources which ultimately slows down the system. U can always use utorrent for maximum performance :D

You're not going to run into hd bottlenecks on a home connection. usually not even on a 100mbit. But yes it's the bandwidth being used, not the amount of torrents :) my friend has like 2000 torrents open on his computer and it makes no difference if you turn utorrent off.

He's had the 0day/mp3 section in scc put on rss for a while now.

My computer feels slower uploading 10 different 1gb files but maybe I'm crazy. It's probably some other part of my computer that sucks :P

running bittorent will not neccessarily slow down your HDD. i'm not sure, but it has something to do with the cache size set up in the torrent client...
