Hey everyone, I'm sure people have had the same problem, bassically I've tried to use download managers such as Flashget and Rapidharvest for downloading multiple rapidshare .rar files, however, when I use them to download one, the file is only 5kb, and when I try to open it it comes up as the archive is of an unknown format or damaged. Am I doing anything wrong? I've tried to copy the URL of the rapidshare links into the both programs and they've both resulted in the same thing, receiving a 5kb .rar file that doesn't open and doesn't seem to be anything. Thanks in advance for the advice :)

Did u actually read the contents of 5KB file

1) Its HTML File
2) It might contain msgs like

- File Not on server
- File Deleted due to complaints
- You have exceeded ur limit for downloading
- So and So server is under upgradation, We are fixing it

3) These are the only 5kbs that i ever encountered.

Also try doin without any D/l Manager if u wanna make sure the file exists...Also check it once on Link Checker at RS

Hey everyone, I'm sure people have had the same problem, bassically I've tried to use download managers such as Flashget and Rapidharvest for downloading ....

Download manager is not supported if u are using a free account (supported in premium account).
Rapidshare is going down.
Heard about MediaFire. I am going to upload the maximum possible files there.I am intending to give my upload files link in these forums.MediaFire supported download manager for free.
I am new here and i think sharing our files through MediaFire (although it is limited) like sites is a good option

if u have a premium account, try internet download manager. IMO, it works best with rapidshare. here's their site
IDM (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/www.internetdownloadmanager.com)

if u have a free account, well, bad luck mate. just use the firefox downloader.

That happens to many people, it's ussually because you download with programs.

The problem is exactly 2 reasons
1- The file has been deleted
2- The file has been reported and not exists

first and foremost, whoever says RS is suxx definetly doesnt have any clue about what he/she is talking about since RS have been around for about at least 3 yrs now-including the .de site- and so far i have not heard about any litigation aimed at that company, and yes RS is German-based company so it's rather impossible for the RIAA to touch them.

now going back to your problem, the first question that i need to ask is: do you have a premium account, or are you using a free account?? if you have a premium account, just go to your account and enable the direct download option and this should solve your problem- as long as the file still exist-, if you're using a free account, well... my suggestion is get yourself a premium account since it's kinda worth it to have one
