Is it easy to go back to 1.6.1 if you have a later version installed?

I upgraded to 1.7.4 ages ago and whilst I don't have any problem with it in general, it is banned on Blackcats which has stopped me downloading a few things.

If I install 1.6.1 again will it automatically install over 1.7.4, use the same settings and carry on downloading torrents that are only part-downloaded now?

as far as i can remember when i did the same, i just installed it over 1.7.4 and started it up.. i don't remember whether i had any partially downloaded torrents, but all the torrents i had in utorrent before, worked smoothly after aswell.

When you start lower version it should remeber all actions.

Alternatively download the portable one which doesnt install into the programs folder. That way you can switch between both version without any changes being made.

Install 1.6.1 and then shut off your Internet when u start utorrent. That will do it I think:) On the other side you will not be able to download/upload but that's just a thing you'll have to live with

no need to do anything. just download utorrent 1.6.1 and run it. voila! you will see all your torrents exactly as they were :) make shortcut for it on desktop and be sure to run that one everytime. if you open from program files, you will open the current version

Not exactly, many sites still ban 1.7 so the safest and most reliable is still 1.6.1. It's accepted by all sites with no bugs or problems ( That I know of )
you can get it at fileHippo (http://filehippo.com/download_utorrent/?2253)

Not that i belive that Utorrent sold out and is giving info to any organisations. But i feel its better to be safe than sorry. So i still use 1.6.1. And ive never had any problems with that what so ever. And it bet it have passed a few thousonds torrents trough that program by now.

Utorrent 1.6.1 is the best version period. just put it in your c: drive then create a shortcut to your desktop and run it.
