....get the XFX PVT88PYDF4 Geforce 8800 GT 512MB (lists for $250 but I've seen it for $270 at Amazon).

I beats the GTS which is $400 and the GT is more power efficient, smaller, and runs cooler.

It comes with Company Of Heroes.

I might get this soon. This card is what I call an anomaly in the marketplace. I would almost think that someone would "fix" it.

It's a no-brainer if you want a decent card now.

The price will probably drop though.

A 320mb 8800GTS shouldn't be much more, you can get em here for around 330$ (or less?). Actually my card is $322 now, it was $340 when I got it :pinch: Definitely worth the extra money imo, the extra power doesn't hurt :)

8800GT is almost on par with the 8800GTX. GTS doesn't even match up to the power of the GT since the GT is using the G92 chip as opposed to the GTS using the G80 chip.

The GT beats or is on par in tests up against the GTS so would one spend the extra money?

The GTS you speak of has less memory too.

Where'd you hear that?

I'd go with the GT. I'm getting the 640 MB flavor of 8800, which should be pretty cool.

Yep its true. The release date is Dec 11. It should be one of nvidia's press release page.

Sorry bud. I don't have a "precious 8800gt".

I want the best card for little money. I'm no cheerleader.

Also it would seem that nVidia has "fixed it" like I previously mentioned by making the more expensive card better.

This doesn't help those who bought a $400 card a month ago though.:pinch:

Does XFX even have a lifetime warranty?

Does XFX even have a lifetime warranty?
I think it depends on the model.
The new 8800 series not only have a lifetime warranty but it's transferable to a second owner.

"double lifetime" warranty.
