Are there any guides to torrenting on the tor network? I used to work where all trackers were blocked and was afraid to use this for fear of being banned.

well of course there is no way you should EVER transfer torrents over tor :)

for protocol messsages between tracker and peers there was a guide on azureus sourceforge page.

using a proxy like tor will cause you to be firewalled so it brings a major disadvantage.


just so you know.. also, it is really slow.

Don't do that. It slows tor down too much for legitimate uses: such as those in countries who have shit goverments that stop them from finding out the truth. :/

TOR isn't designed for P2P. Please don't saturate it with torrent traffic.

got it thanks for the advise, ive used it before just to check on a couple trackers at work but thats been a few months back. Now I just wait till I get home.

Set-up an SSH server at your house and tunnel traffic through it.
