http://torrentfreak.com/images/50.jpg"Before getting up on stage at a club in Oslo, 50 Cent gave an interview. In it he denied taking coke on live TV in Zagreb and then dropped a file-sharing bombshell: “What is important for the music industry to understand is that this really doesn`t hurt the artists!” Wow. No-one cares about the coke now."

Denied taking coke... Thats not what I saw. But thats all in the past. Now that I know it doesn't hurt the artist I going to go grab his album without feeling guilt.

50 would say that cuz selling millyons.

I has room to say that.

A person trying to make it to his status can't afford people not buying their records.

I can see that. Some one like Black Light Burns depends on selling albums. 50 cent also, since he more famous, probably gets a bigger cut off his records.

It is this kind of rational that prohibits change.

Change to what? A free model?

Fact - if people don't buy records the artist can only make money from shows and producers don't get paid.

50 cents rich, he doesn't give a fuck. If I paid out 30k a month in child support, I'd be throwing records out my sun roof.

That is not true. Most artists make money from concerts, tours and endorsements and lesser from CD sales. Most of the CD sale money goes to studios for 'recording', 'distribution', 'marketing' and other stuff. Artists only see 2-3% (if at all) of CD profits. On the other hand, they get a lions share from concerts and stuff.

Ask any upcoming artist if he would prefer having more CD sales or more concerts and he owuld pick the latter.

The artists are not and will not be harmed by File-sharing; only the distributors- the point 50 cent made... A CD-distributor is basically a service job; and when the service is not required nor wanted by the consumers, then the job becomes non-existent.

But you didn't need to hear that, I'm sure; it's just a simple clarification.

But you are not him, are you. The truth is, you don't know his motivation for standing up for File-sharing. Who knows, maybe he just wants to tell the truth for the sake of ... you know, telling the truth.

I don't think he gives a shit how he is making money, as long as he's still making it. Saying filesharing is all right just gets more people on his side. He knows every artist has and will always lose to filesharing.

Its true, he sells millions with one cell phone ring tone- crazy, everyone buys the album anyway if its good! its all greed! we should know that plus a waste of resources- they should find something better to do with the internet, not chasing someone who downloads a song....BS

Yea it's easy for 50 Cent to make them remarks in his current position but if this was 2000 his tone would be alot different guaranteed!
