Wtf Is "bad Robot"?

At the end of every episode of "Alias" I download, there's this short animation about "Bad Robot".
Can anyone enlighten me what that is about?

hmmmmmm, considering its at the end of the proggy and it seems like a silly name - its possibly the name of a production company
