What do you do when you get sick (in terms of shortening the length of the illness). I'm not sick enough to take a sick day, but today was just absolutely miserable.

It depends, which illness are you suffering from?

Get really, really drunk. You will exacerbate your illness and can have your hangover in perfect conscience.

Phone in tomorrow and they will believe you.

I might try that.

And I have some sort of stomach virus. It's weird, I can't stop shivering (it's 75 degrees in my house, and I have a winter jacket on), but both of my thermometers say I don't have a fever.

I think it's time to call Dr. House.

watching sarcastic medical dramas probably isn't the best way to go for what you've described :ermm:

ER then? That has a tad less sarcasm.

I don't think it's the flu. When I get the flu, I literally pass out on my bed for a week.

You poor thing.....I feel sorry for you, really.

Here's my best shot:

Enjoy plenty of hot showers and follow the B.R.A.T. diet. Bananas, Rice, Apples and Tea. You need nourishment to give you strength, and hot showers to ease your aches. Take aspirin (not tylenol) if the showers don't ease the aches. If nausea starts to get to you eat plain (unsalted) soda biscuits and if your thirsty, drink ginger ale (I'm serious!!!).

Follow the above as well, wrap yourself in warm woolies and rest your way through it. Anything else will just cost you too much money and not change anything in the long run.

That's my online tuck-in. Hope you feel better.

Yeah, drink lotsa water and pee a lot to flush out the bad stuff in your system... Drink 1 glass of water every hour and also 1 glass right after you pee.

And also, if you wanna feel better, take a cold shower.

Post on a mentalist internet site dedicated to filesharing and ask for advice from a group of socially inept half-wits.

Thanks kallieb, I'll do that then, but the alcohol consumption idea is a close second. I'll have to run out and get some ginger ale though....

Drink lots of water and Gatoraid. If you start to puke drink more gatoraid that way whe you puke again it taste like gatoraid and not nasty.
