Ah, user limit reached. Fair do's.

Do you know of any public one's which have a decent number of audio books. Mate of mine is suffering greatly since demonoid was laid to rest. It was fab for audiobooks which are the only thing he downloads.

True story.

Well there is:
http://conspiracycentral.net:6969/index.html?filter=Audio
But as you may guess from the title.................
Also http://forums.mvgroup.org for documentaries and the odd audio snippet.

Both public. Tis a shame bout that. I like my audio books too and there is no adequate replacement that i've found thus far.
Have you considered rapid-share links? I could recommend a couple of those places.

He would have a migraine, it took ages for me to convince him that BT was a good idea. I'm trying to get him to use Usenet which has a shedload of audiobooks (maybe worth a look yourself). Unfortunately that is being singularly unsuccessful. So I though at least he is comfortable with torrents.

I've had a look at this http://www.torrentz.com/search?q=audio+book&p=0&s=A

The order can be filter by the "added" header, giving the most recent seeds first. Don't know if the content is up to much tho'.

I do you use(net). I find a finger in every pie works for me. I will find some more feasible sources for yer mate, no prob. Does he like audio novels like, or lectures, or something more specific.

That looks pretty decent for a public site.

He has wide ranging tastes. Everything from Shakespeare to Alan Partridge. From Dickens to Bernard Manning. I kid you not

He also goes for really eclectic stuff . No file to obscure if you catch my drift.

TheWizeard's soulseek shared folder springs to mind.

There's a thought, however I'm not sure how much of that he got from me, or I got from him. I gave piles of stuff to my mate on DVD, so he may already have a load of that.

And also trying to get him to learn another system fills me with trepidation bordering on dread. It would almost certainly involve a home visit and all that entails. It's just too risky.

So the best thing for now it seems is to use the public tracker. When what does open that could be better.

Indeed and agreed, I'll keep my eyes open for that.

Waffles doesn't appear to have the category, though I cannot comment on What as I'm not a member there.

I believe bitme.org would almost certainly be your best bet.

Waffles will soon from what I hear.
What has 882 in that section.
BitMe has 770. But also has a seperate TTC category with 424.
But it's academical as they have all taken the route of exclusivity.

Substituting them for brown is not a reasonable option. No matter what DanB might tell you.

Hello, I'm a former member of demonoid and saw the post about bitme.org and was wondering if anyone here is a member there. I'm trying to get an invite there so I can continue my audiobook collection. I currently have 403 books and am now desperately searching for Stephen King's newest Duma Key. If anyone can help me out let me know here.

You're sort of asking in the wrong place...

You need to wait a month and then ask again in teh bittorrents invites section of this board.

Myanonamouse.com is a awesome torrent site. You do have to log in to it, but with the selection they have it's worth it.
