Cutting a song

Hey guys my girlfriend asked me to cut a song for her so its not so long for he dance solo and i dont really know exactly what i am doing and was wondering that if i was to encode it the way someone wanted it and uploaded it to a server where you can download it would you help me out? cool edit pro is pretty easy to use. you should be able to do something pretty basic like cutting the length of a song.

I'm a sound engineer. I always recommend Sony's Acid Pro for the casual music enthusiasts. very easy to use and quite powerful.

I'm a hip-hop porducer and sound engineer. I would recommend sony sound forge above all. Unless you have Pro-Tools.
