What is this ? An unauthorised poll? My Mod lights tell me I should slap a big closed sign on this thread as a deterent. <_<

People are able to approach a Moderator about starting a poll you know... ;)

carry on ... , :-"

an unauthorized poll? wow... do we live under the iron curtian or something? I seriously hope you were kidding... <_<

not like we havent had dozens of threads asking of opinions before..... :rolleyes:

btw... id give the system a 6. Little weak on the hard drives, speed and size, unless they are the 8meg cache ones. Coulda gotta a better mobo for not much more, and ran faster ram, and more of it. nforce2 is the way to go for amd chips. but it will do you well for the most part. dont expect to run doom3, or hl2 at medium graphic levels.

I was just a bit pissed that I couldn't find an olympic style score board to post my vote with on such short notice :lol:

A question, I have always been curious about certain elements ofthe Kazaa lite webboard...How much is the salary for the moderators?

It seems like a really interesting profession. I will have to look into that. What are the perks of the moderator life? What kind of degree do you need to get that kind of job? It seems like it keeps them pretty busy. I wonder if they have heath benefits. Or do they work for free? Are they even human? Or are they virtual?

Edited starting here...oh, but Lamsey is a human, I think...and he seems pretty cool...he deserves a raise for making so many informative pinned topics.

And about your system. It really comes down to what you paid for it. I am always interested in the bottom line. Without the bottom line that you paid, I cannot evaluate your question. But automatically subtract $300 US for the flower case; it detracts heavily from the style, I must agree with toddiscool.

:huh: :P ;)

Salary? Squat,zip,zero,nothing $0 and they also have to pay tax!!!! so basically they're salary is -$5 they owe the K-lite board money :lol:

Back to the subject, I give it a 4. If you custom built it I think you can do a just a little better than that. But overall it does seem like a pretty decent pc. :D

4!! ouch thats a bit harsh. I reckon about a 7. Theres probably nothing it can't handle, but it could handle it faster. :)

Views last time I checked. That means that many folks have gained computer knowhow through Lamsey's articulate pinned topics. I have looked throught other pinned topics, and not seen such detail, and Lamsey's are truly useful and informative.

Case = 7
7 for the Generic case, -1 for black (metallic guy myself ;)). Not sure about the flower window so -1, +1 for the neon (+1 for blue as well :D), 2 Case fans is around normal so no change.

Graphics = 8
GeForce cards automatically get an 9 :D, 5200's not that new so -1. Dual VGA is not necessary unless you have two monitors & dual-screen capability so nothing extra for that.

CPU = 7
An Athlon is not a Pentium 4 so I can't give you anything about 8 ;) 533FSB is not a bad standard, so -1 for the 226.

Motherboard = 8
Best make can be debated, but I'm an Asus man so 7 ;) USB 2.0 is good to have so +1, Audio's not that bad but you could have done with a stand-alone soundcard so no change.

RAM = 9
You don't really need the top of the range RAM for stuff - 512 is good enough for most operations. The only thing I can see you needing more for are 3D animation packages e.g. Maya :D

Hard Drives = 7.5 (Average of 7 & 8)
Western Digital are good so +1, 7200's a good speed so +1. 30GB is not that good so 5, 6 for the 60GB

Broadband = 8
At least it ain't 56k :D

Speakers = 8
I can't dispute Altec Lansing that much :D Even better is that they're surround - I'd give 10 for 6.1 (top-end), 9 for 5.1 - 8 for 4.1 then ;)

LAN Card = Undecided
A LAN card's a LAN card - Good that you got 10baseT though, but I just hope you didn't buy it as a LAN card - you can get a 10baseT Ethernet network card that does the same job for around a tenner <_<

Total = 62.5/80
so I'd give it...7.8 :)

3rd gen noob, ol pal, I think Lamsey's pinned topics, although parts are copied and pasted, you must admit that all information is recycled.

And add to that that if Lamsey is not profiting from these pinned topics, and also the fact that he directly credits his sources...he acts out of kindness to help those 1st gen noobs out there...lol :P

$150 is not bad at all, I must admit.

But if I were you I would not waste all of your money on a Radeon 9800...just see if you can find a 9500 with the same PCB, it then can be converted into a 9700/9800 (depending on who you ask, mine says 9800 in adapter properties) by activating the 4 idle pixel pipelines. Before I upgraded my video card I did some research and used the knowledge of some members of the X Bit labs forum members who informed me of the 9500 tweak. You can take advantage of my research by looking Here (http://duhvoodooman.com/9500mod/9500mod_1.htm) and here (http://grahamvoce.com/rad9500/faq.html)

Omega makes this driver hack available in the install of his ATI drivers, and it really works.

Good luck with your system.

:D :D :D :D

I'd give it a 6! Now i know you will look at my stats and laugh...but ok! lol the 2000XP isnt my idea of BLAZING but its ok...266MHZ fsb...im not liking that...and I, as alot of users, is bias to intel i think lol! the RAM looks good and the G-Card is pretty nice also...However the onboard audio isnt inpressing me..Nice hard drive space...but the flower case..im not feelign that either lol but i give it a 6..or 7

oh-oh

another bloody anti-amd user here

come on, don't you think you should look at more than just the fsb speed?
i mean, i have an athlon 2700
it runs at a clock of 2.17GHz with 333MHz fsb, however, in the majority of gaming benchmarks it will humble a P4 2.53GHz with fsb of 533MHz

think about it...

I apologise for any misunderstanding. I was referring to the links you pasted. I know you typed that stuff. What I was saying was that posting links to good sites is helpful to the noobies, and although you don't have your own tech site, referring people to tech sites is helpful to newbies, such as myself.
