I was wondering if it was possible to upload from an ftp server to usenet? :)

Yes, but only if your server client will allow you to output traffic via port 80, 119 or 563. You will also need to ensure that during the connection that you are authroized authentication privlages to input your user:pass information in order for the usenet servers to accept your traffic.

you will need to install software that can upload data to usenet, your ftp server will not be able to do this.

I would recommend newspost (http://newspost.unixcab.org/) if you are using Linux.

Yeah, you can't FXP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_eXchange_Protocol) from a dump, stro, or pubstro to a Usenet server because the Usenet server will not be FXPable. You will need to install some sort of software like newspost to do the transfer. Hope this helped :)
