The AMD Athlon XP 2400+ is the highest supported CPU for that mobo.

I think so.

The 2400+ is the highest-rated Athlon with a 266MHz FSB.

I could be wrong though

Thanx Lamsey, I been looking round and found it would only go at 1.4ghz but I thought that was crap! Any one else got any ideas?

Just a tip, GHz is not the way to measure the speed of an Athlon XP. Look at the model numbers - apart from the very latest models, they accurately reflect the clock speed in MHz of an equivalent Pentium 4.

Noooo.... The Athlon XP rating is based on the equivalent clock speed of the previous generation Athlons; the Thunderbird, I believe. It has nothing to do with Pentiums.

Yes, that is absoutely correct.

But it just so happens that they also provide a good comparsion with P4 processors.
