Ive tried everything I can find on the internet that looks like this :

I cant get it to work, does anyone have any ideas on how to make one? This is really starting to piss me off.

It's basic induction, how can you not get it to work.

Is the battery flat.

You do know the black disc is a magnet.

Or did you just want to post that phoatie.

Well, and forgive me for saying this, it would appear not.

There, I said it.

Go with a simpler design then.
Some copper wire, battery, and round flat magnet

must have the magnet set right turn it over or reverse the battery

Looks interesting
does it move at all? Perhaps there's too much friction at your hinges where the unit swings.

So how do you make it work? And what is not working for you?
So do you basically have a battery, the stand, the turning coil, and the magnet? Is that all thats needed to make this work.

Aparently yes, but it wont work. Im going to go out and get some different magnets and see if it makes a difference.

Right now I'm using a D cell battery...should I be using something else?

I know how to build one.

What you do is.......

I think that's a given.

does it do anything at all? Do you have the magnet off centre as in the vid, otherwise it'll do nothing.. also thick wire will help as you need as much current as possible
btw the battery will go flat in no time as you're basically shorting it.

edit: if in doubt try a 9V battery
