Andreas Hinkel has joined t'Hoops from Sevilla for £1.9m we really needed to strengthen the back 4. Let's hope for another full back.

Rumours continue about moves for Barry Robson (Dundeed Utd) and James McFadden (Everton). I'd get that back 4 fixed personally. Also a new keeper, see below. The lad at Dundee Utd looks the part.

It's surely only a matter of time till we hear where Boruc is going to. Similarly for Zurawski, rumour has it LA Galaxy are interested.

Looks like Hutton is gonna stay with the Gers unless Man Utd come up with a great offer. He has already rejected the advances of Spurs if what they say is true. Let's face it G.Neville looks ready for the scrapheap and United could do with another right-back. How is the lad. I've only seen the odd champions league game with him but he looks solid.

Mr JP Fugley
01-05-2008, 06:25 PM
He's a cracking player, just came into his game over the last year or so. Will get even better with time and top quality coaching. I'd take him without thinking once about it.

Good in defence and great going forward. Has developed a little bit of the "light in his loafers" recently but I think he's been taught that.

Unfortunately for you has just signed a 5 year contract so it would probly have to be silly money. Tho' silly money to us is going rate for the EPL. It would be pure profit for the hun as he is a product of their academy.

What do you think of Boruc to the EPL.

Something Else
01-05-2008, 07:00 PM
Boruc should make the transition easy methinks. It's not so hard for keepers to settle in as long as they don't drop early clangers.
Is £8-12m silly money for Hutton. That's the fee been mentioned.

He's not worth that just now but definitely will be if he keeps going the way he is.

I say that because I don't think he's actually proven it yet, however I think he will. He's shown enough in the Champs League and at International level to be given the chance.

£8m would be a decent buy but you would be buying potential to a certain extent. The higher figures are probly just because of the long contract.

Something Else

At 23 he's getting on a bit for an unfinished youngster.
Ronaldo and Rooney are younger and already vastly developed.
Defenders do take longer to mature, it's true.
I'd be happy with £8m for the lad maybe with an appearance/success based add on for another few mil.

He's hardly what I would call an unfinished youngster, I just think he's still improving. With more top level football and coaching he will achieve his full potential. That's what he would get at a club like Man Utd.

I think your idea of paying the £8m with add-ons would be a good idea and the best way forward.

Yup, it is for huns.

Unless of course you get rid of your best player (Hutton, as discussed)

That's the cunt about not qualifying for the knockout stage of the Champs League. There's just no money in the WAFA cup.

Update on Boruc. He has signed a new deal with t'Hoops. Reputed to be worth £5.5m to him over 3 years. Not huge by English standards but very substantial in the Scottish League.

Mr JP Fugley

New Japonese lad supposed to be joining t'Hoops.

Name of Koki Mizuno, apparentement the work permit is being sorted out over the next few days. He's played a few internationals but doesn't meet the 75% rule.

Thing is, that might mean Naka is on his way. Or indeed might mean he is staying.

Haftae play in more than 75% of the international matches for your country before you're granted a work permit in this one.

Well, that's the theory but it rarely works like that. It all depends how good your club lawyer is. For instance, Man Utd signed Anderson this summer and he's played for Brazil all of twice.

"People are worried that I might take money away from the Texas Rangers [Hicks' baseball franchise] to go to Liverpool," Hicks said.

"But it is just the reverse. Liverpool is going to throw off lots of extra money which, if I choose to, I can use for the Rangers or the Dallas Stars ice hockey team." Man Utd's merkins > Liverpool's merkins.

Hutton has signed after his personal terms were improved.

Believed to have received £1M sign on fee and £33K a week wages.

Cousin move to Fulham rejected as he played for about 20 mins for Lens before going to the huns. Too many national boundaries in 1 season.

Celtic have a £2.25M option to buy Samaras if the loan works out.

Samaras is an awful player; no pace, no skill, sulks a lot and didn't get many games for City last year - even when they went six months without a home goal. That's how bad he is.

I don't think anyone in football likes him.

He did it to Nicky Butt when he was playing for Chelski, reached up inside his shorts and, presumably, put his finger up Butt's arse or something else. Butt twatted him and got sent off.

Absolutely, like you said he's good enough to shine in the SPL but that's damned by faint praise.

To be fair tho' if you look outside of the(normal)top 4 in England there's not a lot to see and they're only being propped up by TV money. Most of them don't have a look in compared to the Hoops when it comes to stadium size, average crowd, season ticket sales, worldwide appeal etc.

Feck, that's gotta be the slowest burning rod dans l'histoire. You've been doggedly avoiding the bite for nigh on three years

One can't fail but to admire the two Glasgow teams (unless one supports one or t'other) for their results in the Champions League this season given the level of opposition they face week in week out - which is poor.
The way in which they're financially structured is probably better than anything save, possibly, Arsenal in the English Premier league.

Mr JP Fugley
02-03-2008, 07:54 PM
Actually the huns are, or at least were a financial mess. They are now basically David Murray. He had to do a new share issue recently. Looking to raise £55M. Eventually he had to put up £50M of it himself. They were about £70M in debt before that.

That's why they were so desperate to get the money for Hutton.

T'Hoops on the other hand have just built their new training ground which was paid for out of profits. They budget without allowing for champs league money so any they get is a big bonus.

manker
02-03-2008, 08:02 PM
I didn't think it was like that at Ibrox, I read a series of articles in the autumn specifically about how they (Celtic and Rangers) were structured and it seemed as if all was rosy. By Chick Young, if I recall - he's normally pretty good.

Hutton was awesome against United yesterday, btw. I only saw the highlights but he seems to be a fine player.
