Speed Racer [2008]

the 1960's cartoon never really caught my eye & this new movie addition seems to be on par with the same feel... in a better way. movie looks pretty damn trippy actually. time to bust out the chem lights and acid. :) from the creators of the matrix trilogy cumz the movie version of one of the longest running cartoons. this won't be a theatre watch for me, but i'll check it out on a good dvd rip or an r5.

i loved the colors. VERY, VERY, VERY colorful! imma have to watch this again when i get a DVD copy & talk to "uncle cid". very trippy film. i can see why everyone hated this film. as pointed out i guess i tend to rate films higher than the avg viewer, but i guess i do that if the film amuses and/or entertains me. i don't go into films telling myself, "ha, that would never happen". well, of course not... it's the movies. :)

having said that the acting is off beat and slightly immature. young children will probably dig this. guess i'm still kid @ heart. very colorful as i've previously pointed out. i liked the futuristic race style that they've brought to the table. all-in-all i wasn't disappointed, but i did get kinda bored mid film. after mid film thru-out til the end it does pick up. go go gadget.. oops, wrong show.

good film for the drug induced. 6/10
