TL Help - Stolen Account

Could i please have some help with a stolen account TL staff? I cant access Irc atm so i thought this would be the best place to start.

damn, losing a tl account is really tragic.

i have a question for you, but it also may be a general question.

i read a lot about accounts being "stolen". what exactly does that mean?

does it mean that somebody knew your username and hacked your password?

i need more information about this topic to keep my accounts as save as possible.

Exactly, some little prick has found out my password, and stolen the account.

in the email give you usename ip that should be on the account and email add if the sysop needs more info to prove the account is yours he will ask you
some times we will ask you ro name 3 torrents you grabbed in the last month ect so we can check them on your profile

also i am sorry to say your pass must of been very easy as 6 wrong trys we ban the ip add

maybe they wrongly accused you of cheating and banned you like it happened before.

better choose a safer password and keep it private, so that nobody can find out about it next time.

And i have thought that cheateing could be the reasone or trade..but i didint want to say anything until i see more info

That sucks man, use a long random password with lowercase and caps.

Also change your password on the email you use, Email hijacking is the easiest way to steal someones account.

Bash away at the keyboard with both hands write it down thats your pass that's how i choose mine it's not hard to remember if you make a habit of forceing yourself to log in manualy every time you visit the site.

what also works good.

Open a book, random page, random word. use that word as the first word.

put a punctuation mark after that word

. or ~ if it accepts ~

open another book, pick another word at random use that as the last word.

also add some numbers at the end of both words, maybe even the page number where you got the word from.

for example

that is realy hard to crack for anyone (take note of the caps as well at the start of the words)

that is all correct what u have said stoi,but i dont understand this how some hacker who have his password knows his username on that or anyother site???

unless maybe he havent said something to some people so they could put 2 and 2 and by guessing know his username

or if he use same name and password on public forum then i could understand why he was hacked.

There are a lot of users using the same username on all trackers, could be someone who knows him. If this is all true!

Probably got his mail hacked, and then the intruder recovered the pass at TL.

Does the email changing system on TL send the confirmation to the old email? Because if it does, the person can't change the email registered to the account without having your email account.

The first one was this same problem which still hasent been resolved and the second one was a honest mistake by TL.

If you look at my record you will clearly see i am no trader polarbear, i have been around here for a long time and i am a trusted member by many. As i stated before this is the first time my account has been stolen and i have a fair idea who it was.


Sounds like you got scammed in a trade...

Sounds to me like you dont know what your talking about and have to much free time on your hands to be spamming threads.
