Are you out of your mind!? This is one of the best versions out there, I have used Black since v4 and I have never had a problem with it. There was a minor problem downloading it from Wrestlezone where someone added a virus to it in version 6 I think. This version is 100% clean and good. Originally it was made by Gamerman and now by Kirk, I can't tell if it's the same person or not but from what I can read on TPB warezdemonoid (http://thepiratebay.org/user/warezdemonoid/) is releasing these on Pirate Bay which would make sense because Demonoid used to have all these releases by Gamerman. There are a few threads here about Black somewhere I'll see if I can find them.

As far as I know PB was the only tracker that had 7.2 I know that SITR had v6.0 or something as well as TD. I actually went on a bit of a crusade asking site staff why these releases weren't uploaded on the bigger private trackers and mostly the answer I got was that this is not a "Scene" release and that it was a homemade program, My reply was well so are keygens right!? Anyway say what you will about the public trackers but look here they have a hard to find app that others seem to be too 1337 to put on their sites.

Im going to check this out as well. Quite a few programs that I use, would be nice to have everything ready to go on a fresh install. Yes I know I can image/backup, but I usually loose them, and only end up with my install disk :P

The only Prob IMHO about this version is it seems they have less programs on the later versions. In v4.10 it came with PhotoShop and now it doesn't and a few others like that. If you check around you will see some people say it's full of viruses, but other than the Wrestlezone debacle there is nothing wrong with these releases and it's a shame the bigger trackers don't have them there.

Now these are for 7.2 but I see someone posted a 7.5 calling it remastered. OC I will DL and try that one too, but I don't know how legit this version is so Use 7.5 at your own risk I use 7.2 with no problem.


On another note there is another version of XP called LastXP that is supposed to be good too. I have a copy but I haven't done an install of it yet.

I think it's a great app I personally like the looks of V6 better and the fact that it comes with more apps than v7 but I just put 7 on my system now and I usually like to leave it running for a while.

Well I assure any and all of you that in 1 version it's confirmed that there were Viruses but that version 7.0 was from WrestleZone as long as you are getting 7.2 from Pirate bay you are fine. I have downloaded and installed many many different "homemade" versions of XP this is by far my favorite and it is 100% safe! I have scanned it and scanned it with Nod32, AVG, and Avast, and Kaperski, with NO viruses detected. I do this on all new installs just to be sure. They say the Black XP tool bar is required but you can un-install it after the whole install finishes. So I am sure this version is safe not to mention a GREAT release.

"Best Release?" Thats a tough one. it's all about personal taste they are all basically the same XP unattended with extra apps available, So other than the virus aspect which most of these type apps don't really have. So you would have to try out a few and see what it is you like for yourself. I personally have always loved the Black editions but more and more people are saying that the LASTXP editions are very good too. I think LastXP is up to version 17 now.

There are always going to be people like me installing these types of releases. I'm sure at least one of us would pick up irregular traffic going through our hardware firewalls and networks. But it is always good to be skeptical of new releases that have not been widely tested.

Detale, do you have any linkage as to where to get more info on LastXP? I am wondering if it has the tablet drivers in there.

I've used TinyXP/Tiny 2k3 Server on single task boxes. They are very nice if you want something fast and streamlined to do very specific things. Supposedly, Tiny 2k3 is the best OS to use for gaming, as it rips out all the junk that slow down systems.

I ve had a couple little glitches-(nlite not working, little problems with xp icons and vista icons ), but other than those not many problems. Black XP 7.2 Platinum has alot going for it. Its nice, but thats why Warez demonoid, Gamerman come out with the 7.5 to fix the little bugs. Dont download the 7.0 Black xp, as its filled with viruses.

IPT has a few versions of Black to try , I really like ver 6. the two disk set . Indego is another favorite . I like that I can do a clean install with my fav programs and tweaks in under 2 hours . Thats with all the sp2 patches and set up how I like it .

There are always going to be people like me installing these types of releases. I'm sure at least one of us would pick up irregular traffic going through our hardware firewalls and networks. But it is always good to be skeptical of new releases that have not been widely tested.

You know what you're right. It is good because I will Dl and install anything. My worst case scenario I format and start over. No biggie to me, so it is good to be a skeptic.

I've used TinyXP/Tiny 2k3 Server on single task boxes. They are very nice if you want something fast and streamlined to do very specific things. Supposedly, Tiny 2k3 is the best OS to use for gaming, as it rips out all the junk that slow down systems.

According to many "top tracker" staff NONE of the homebrew XP releases are Official or Scene enough to be worthy to be uploaded on their trackers, It really sux if you ask me.

I would recommend NOT giving Kirk/Gamerman any money, he's a con man, and a really good one at that, i used to me a mod at his site, threw me out and a few other people for no reason at all, blamed a sql server problem, but banned us all again...
