it depends on what motherboard u want, some abits will be better than some asus and vice versa. They're both good makes

So i take it u still have that same problem, and you think its hte motherboard ?

Its hard to say, the asus has slightly better features, but only supports processors up to a 333MHz FSB. The abit meanwhile supports 400MHz.
So I think personally i'd probably go for the Abit, unless you think u want more than 2 usb devices.
I think u'll be happy with either choice, they are both very good

For anyone who wants specs:
Abit (http://www.abit.com.tw/abitweb/webjsp/english/mb_spec.jsp?pPRODUCT_TYPE=MotherBoard&pMODEL_NAME=NF7-S)
Asus (http://www.asus.com.tw/mb/socketa/a7n8x/specification.htm)

In my view Asus is the supiror of the two. As they seen to be the first to realese the latest technology, not to mention benchmarks are slightly higher with their boards.
