if you re talking about the creepy atmosphere i would go with darkness within or maybe and then there were none although scratches is unique in this kind. I enjoyed it a lot

Similar in what way? Creepy adventures or just plain adventures?

One of the better adventures I've played recently was Indigo Prophecy (AKA Fahrenheit)... Amazing, thrilling game.

You could also go with Monkey Island (noone can ever go wrong with Monkey Island :) )
