Recently I was surprised and charmed by the movie Juno and in particular Ellen Page, who plays the title character.

A wiki search brought up her first movie Hard Candy, which I had read about when released but never saw.
Got ahold of it today and was floored.

I'm glad I saw Juno first as the memory of Hayley would have changed my entire perception of Juno but the combination of the two flicks has placed Ms. Page at the top of my favorites list.

I'll definitely be on the lookout for her next project, whatever the subject matter...this girl is seriously good.

I am amazed she managed to get past the cliche high school teen "comedies" with stiflers mom etc.
Her performance in Juno was amazing, yet i fear it will haunt her in the future.

I thought she was excellent in that movie. I just liked her after watching Juno, but now that I've seen Hard Candy, I think I love her lol. She's such a great actress with tons of potential to become one of the greats. She's also got a rockin little bod, which is nice too :).

Loved Ellen from her first TV work in "Pit Pony" and "Trailer Park Boys",but I hope Hollywood doesn't pigeon-hole her.
Maybe it's the editing but her character in the "Smart People" trailer looks like warmed over Juno.
