Dedic Raptor Pro Lin 581
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif AMD Opteron 144
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif 160 GB of HDD disk
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif 512 MB of RAM DDR-ECC (info)
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif Traffic-Unlimited (guaranteed)
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif 100Mbit Switch Port
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif KVN (Obtional) NEW
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif RemoteConsole
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif PLESK 8 (info (http://plesk.com/))
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif Managed firewall
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif Operation System (http://hosting-ie.com/content/view/34/75/#os)*

http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif 29 € Setup Fee NEW
http://hosting-ie.com/images/arr.gif 49 € Per Month

Bit confused, comparing the other servers for some reason setup fee is too low, and Server looks to me too cheap,

Has some one use that one before ?
What is the average speed on them if some one knows?

thanks.

wow they updated their setup price, great :)

I rent their VPS, but even on their VPS I got this speed

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/6684/myspeedho8.jpg

6MB on upload, think it's not very bad at all, besides I only rent a VPS that shared by 5, if you're gonna rent a dedicated, that would be a way too good

I think hosting-ie service is good, I really find their customer service is being helpful to me all the time

absolutely vectoral is much better, but with metered bandwidth I think you would past it easily before the end of the month

yeah Hosting-ie.com is the grate one,
if you go for Level 2 support they do well as well,

if you stay with level 1 that means you do your own ,
they still do help but during the working hours.

But the servers are good, very good.

I paid 79 euro when ordered the same one.
Good one, but you would need additional 512 RAM to feel comfortable

fstokebanget
01-20-2008, 07:58 PM
no need for additional RAM if you use Linux + rTorrent ;)

I have had the same server as you a Lin581 for 5 months now, it runs Windows2003 web edition easily and I have got upto 9mbs up on popular torrents, and easily exceed the bandwidth on the vectoral servers monthly. Even with level one support my questions have been answered within 24 hours and the only time the speed degraded was when keyweb's datacenter lost one of the backbones, and this affected the whole datacenter for about 5 days apart from that it has been excellent.

yeah but don't forget that this is upload+download
so its fester & better but in the end of a month you can't do more than 2500 giga
even if you download only 20% from your traffic limit you cant upload more than 2000 giga, and dude 2 Tb buffer in 1 month its shit
I have hosting-ie vps too and even that my speed is lower than vectoral I get 4 Tb traffic in 1 month
mostly its 1 Tb download and 3 Tb upload

so what do you think is better??
fast server limited to 2500 or "slaw" server with unlimited traffic that make double traffic in month
and if you calculate the vectoral server traffic you can see that its BW end in 3-4 days
10 mb/sec = 36 giga/hour
36 giga/hour = 864 giga/day
so in only 3 days you can finish all of your BW

that is why I preferred to take VPS/VDS with unlimited traffic than dedicate with limit

i think depends what package you use
I had VDS Rabtor Plus/ (Not an Virtuozzo based)
http://hosting-ie.com/content/view/29/66/

and had to say the speed was just perfect,
it depends how much VDS's are on the Server
on package Rabtor Plus they say it is just 3 VDS on it and it was fast.

Now I did cancel it do go to dedicated box and again speed is perfect.
in January I did use around 7 TB in total

Just Slow down in the end of the month that is the golden rule :)

I've also had a 581 for ages, wouldn't be without these days :) Way more than 3TB per month up, nevermind what I do down, is easy peasy.

And I've just set another persons up for him, utorrent, FTP & Web UI, and he also loves it :D

Setup fee only means setting up the box with your chosen OS, after that you are on your own.

they set that what they offer on the page and what you will select on order page
they will not set torrent for you :))))
they will set OS, and Control panel if you will select in order page (Plesk or cPanel)

P.S.
with higher level support they may set torrent as well in your request :) who knows, but i never tried ::)))

Hosting-ie is not a very honest company,

They are not truthful when they answer support tickets, try to extort mangment fees from you.

I ordered a dedicated server from them, paid the setup fee, 95 euro. took a month to get the server and then it was setup incorrect.

They responded that to fix it they would have to changer me becasue I was not paying monthly management fee. Why should i have to pay extra a month so they would set the server up correctly. They finally said they would do it as a favor for me.

A favor? to set it up correctly.

then server hung during an install, asked for a reboot, 21/2 hrs later get response that its online so they can't reboot it. What ??

they then explained that free reboots were for fixing hardware problems, reboots for software issues would be charged. I asked how much that would be, they wouldn't answer the question.

I have never seen a reboot fix a hardware problem in my life. But i was informed they would reboot if I paid monthly management fee. I start to see a pattern here.

Anyways server is trash, slow and won't update windows as it fails and spits out a genuine validation error.

well that was 300 euro wasted on this dishonest company, I call it cost of learning.

Learning who to lease from and who not to lease from.

There are many better companies out there to lease servers from.

I current have a dedicated package with them. Although the setup fee is expensive and they take a while to setup, I'm very happy after all that. The speeds are good and I'm able to max out my speeds.

i've read a lot of good reviews from hosting-ie, but my experience was more along the lines of dottor. I did use it for 2 weeks and got about 2.5 tb of bw, but after that it was horrible.

My speeds wouldn't go over 1mb and they told me there was a disk corruption and needed a $20 reinstall, so after $20 more i was in the same place and had just paid for another month,
then the server crashed and they wouldn't do anything without more money so I went to vectoral.

They have free reinstallations and can get 11mb/s on torrents. It's got limited bw, but for me it'd be hard to use it all without going to tl or somewhere it's easy to seed and wasting a bunch.

Maybe sometime i'll have to go with keyweb and try it again.

ever hear the phrase out of the frying pan into the fire.

yea vectoral is not the best but hosting-ie is the worse.

I currently have have many servers with a few different companies and I will say that host-ie is the most dishonest and outright misleading company I have ever used.

You guys talk about speed their speed sucks plain out. First of all unlimited bandwidth = slow ask anyone that has any experience with servers and they will agree.

They are not going to give you premium bandwidth and make it unlimited.

On top of that scam you add the dishonest practices of this company (hosting-ie) and you are the end looser not end user.

Beware and be warned.

let me add few more things
many times my hosting-ie server shut down for many hours
2 time it shut down for allmost 3 days because their delay support
and I never get those lost days back even that it was their fault

so if your server shut down dont expect for extra time in your contract

My VPS at hosting-ie has been running for 2 months without being shut down, and it's using Linux. I think many problems with the downtime of server is happening to Windows server
