This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148262) drive in this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817145167) enclosure is as good as it gets, IMO.

All you need is an open SATA port on your motherboard and, using the eSATA cable, your transfer rate is as fast as an internal drive.

That enclosure also supports transfer over USB.

Why no SATA?

I'd still recommend the combo I first posted.
You can use the USB cable with this PC and when you eventually upgrade your computer, the eSATA will be much faster.

I recommend this too. I propably will do this soon myself but with bigger drive. Im out of sata ports :frusty:

even though this drive is internal, does it have a usb input? therefore if i put a case on it it will be ok to use as an external hd.

No, the drive doesnt have usb connector. But the case has it so it works in USB. Its like an adapter.

maybe he wants a 2.5" ext hdd instead of an int+ casing combo. anyway if you're going for internal + casing, u might as well get a higher capacity for future proofing. 500gbs are currently the sweet spot right now, and 750s are starting to show nice prices too.
