i am probably wrong here (as i usually am)

unless I'm mistaken
TBDev has carried on from TBsource(Redbeard), which was based on the Bytemonsoon source(written by dfx).
I'm probably way off the mark as wellhttp://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/../images/smilies/laugh.gif

He's not dead.:P
What the first private tracker was is debatable, but there were certainly private trackers around before Bytemonsoon and Torrentbits.

I just want to add that its addictive and can take control of your life and if you are not careful, you will end up all alone in life except for Terabytes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terabyte/url) of data but thats ok cause you can make friends in forums like FST.
