Standalone with a forum for me.

at least then people with a lot of posts in the forum, wont just be all thankyou. they might actually have some decent posts, and it wont take an hour sifting through their thankyous to see that they are a decent poster.

its obvioulsy nice for an uploader to get a thankyou, but if all your doing it for is to get your post count up then its counter-productive in my view.

+ its a lot easier to find torrents when its a tracker style setup, rather than a forum style setup.

forum based trackers are very difficult to navigate.

What do you mean by forum based ? you make requests and they are filled?

I like a tracker with lots of stuff and a nice and a friendly active forum

Stand alone based but with a forum available.

I dislike the forum layout for a torrent tracker.

Forum for me (RIP Phoenix Torrents..sniff)...coding a ratio tracker to mesh with a forum board is tricky tho...

i imagine he means like PUTUK (or at least what POTUK used to be, havnt been there for years)

Tracker is hidden from members, uploaders upload the torrents to the forum. it lists the seed/leechers etc in the forum.

and they can even make it so the torrent is hidden until you post a reply, which is usually "thanks".

I used to like them, blackcats many moons ago was going to go that route.

MRC was staff on blackcats, blackcats went down, he founded POTUK with someone else (cant remember his name now though) and i havnt talked to MRC for years now, but last i heard he wasnt at POTUK anymore so not sure what happened with him.

and anyway, MRC wanted us to go that route, he paid for a server, got it all sorted, 1 day later they closed us down and the police paid him a visit (as he paid the bill) nothing came of it though.

i cant stand forum-based trackers.. the only 2 trackers i have that are forum based are punk torrents and some indian one that i never used (BxT). Punktorrents has some really rare stuff and i would use it alot more if it was stand-alone, but realistically i only use it if im looking for something so rare that i wont get it from a request or from what or waffles.. it also sucks when you find what you want and find out its been dead for a couple years..
