if u are at the uk, go for giga hosting (their servers are located at munich). unmetered traffic and lots of cheap packs. of course they throttle the speeds, but during night i could easily achieve 50~60mbps upstream. during daytime, it went to around 20~30mbps. You can get lucky on the pool you are inserted, you never know, and achieve even higher speeds.
of course that setting up windows will have a cost.
for a seedbox i see no need to go for windows, there is a nice tutorial here how to set up a box in debian, with ftp access and webui.

I bought one Sunday morning to Hosting-ie. Almost 30euros/month, plus 5euros set up fee. 512 ram, 40gb hd. Got it by Tuesday afternoon. I'm quite happy with it. 6MB up, was the max I saw yet. (I only used it today)

So yes, I'd recommend them.

OVH has a server for 19.99e or $29.00

Intel Celeron 2.00 GHz
160 Go IDE / SATA2
256 Mo DDR
100 Mbps
Windows XP(?) 32/64 bit Pro (no extra charge)

That's a damn good deal if you ask me. I'll be looking into them myself... (unless FiOS comes to me first :P)

I have usenet. But not everything gets on usenet and I enjoy the idea of sharing and seeding the stuff I have.

tusks i have fios and dont get me wrong i love it but i still carry a seedbox.even with download speeds of 3mbs and upload speeds of 700 kbps.unless you planing on seeding them forever on your own client i would still recommend a cheap seedbox for the high level trackers man.but the idea of having high speed is too buffer accts and yes you can achieve that with fios but 2 torrents at a time.

heres the ovh link

https://www.ovh.com (https://www.ovh.com/)

and for those that want to just get there feet wet these folks just to start off with i achieved 9mbps of download speed all for a mere 7 dollars with 150 kbps upload speed and ftp access.

by the way its unlimited bandwidth.

Those are some really good speeds man. When Verizon comes to my area, I'll be upgrading to their 15/15 plan hopefully. That will be enough for me, I don't plan to be a dedicated uploader at any site. And basically you're paying for great upload speeds without having to worry about shelling out some money elsewhere for torrents. Otherwise, i will look into OVHs plan seriously.

FIOS is getting much faster, like 100/100 I think I read, in the next couple of years, so I'll wait for that (NY will be first, I'm sure :) ). The current speeds on FIOS don't seem worth the price and being locked into the contract for me.

So for now I'm looking into a seedbox as well. Thanks for the links.

Is there any way to tell which will offer the best upload speeds or at least determine if it will be 1MB up minimum?

wow, I'm stunning, are you sure it's for home connection ? 100/100 for home connection is too good to be true
