Hi guys,

It's been a long time, but I've been rather busy.

So the other day I got the Futurama movie from mininova in the x-264 format and the quality really amazed me. It's looks far better than the usual divx rip.

I looked around the public trackers and TL, but didnt find many movies ripped with that codec.

So I wonder if you could tell me about a few trackers/rapidshare download forums that specialize in x.264 movies

Oh, and the new themes cool :D

lol

x264.eu

entire site

i think its not as popular as it should because,
the size tends to be little bigger than xvid
and codecs are more difficult for newbies

but yeah i have replaced some of my collections with this format, much crisper.

yayyyyyy

hdbits, bithdtv and scenehd are the biggest ones...

x264.eu has a very poor selection of files and a very low number of users :(

I think I'd rather download movies under a gig, so the HD sites wont be too useful unless they have 700-900 mb rips.

But an invite to x264.eu would be great. :D

x264.eu seems to be down right now...is it open reg or invite only?

As to the OP's point about x264 quality, I find that once you've watched HD, its hard to go back so I refuse to watch anything where resolution matters in xvid format.

hdbits has quite a few, but they arent very popular at the moment.

The problem with all sites that use the x264 format is that the size of files is not lesser or equal to xvid sizes, its larger instead for much better quality.

Now it would be great for low bandwidth people who are satisfied with xvid quality if they started releasing x264 movies in 400-700 mb sizes. That will be lesser size than xvid rips and equivalent/better quality. Why isnt anyone doing that?

xvid dvdrips(.avi) are 700 mbs, while those in x264 are 700mbs-2 gigs. Thats very good considering the quality is as good as the dvdr.

7000mb dvd rips are just to grainy to watch even on my 15" monitor ;)

Thanks for the invite youknowwho :D
