View Full Version : Is Blackcats necessary for games?

If you're already on a bunch of scene-type trackers like Bitsoup that have loads of video games? I'm on bitgamer & nemesys as of now & they're borderline pointless for me to have as the regular trackers actually have more games & more seeders. But it seems like Blackcats could also be the shit.

BCG is pretty decent for old games. If you're looking for new games, then regular scene trackers will be just fine.

no..not really. If you got what you need at Bitsoup then you don't need BCG

if you have a console, say xbox360 it could be good for finding xbox 1 emulated games and such.. and it has a much wider selection than 0day trackers.

That's cool, do you need the 360 elite to do that or can you play them on a regular modded console?

BCG sounds like a fun site then, I guess I'll try to get invited some time. The other lower level video game trackers I'm not sure if I'll continue with however. Thanks for the replies.

just read my sig for how many games we have and from what console (there are more categories than i have listed though)

we wont be everyones cup of tea, and most things you probably can get elsewhere, like 0 day scene releases.

But we do not pride ourselves on those, we like to think of ourselves as a one stop shop for games, if we dont have it you can request it and chances are it will be filled eventually. we do have a load of requests atm though.

i wont say you need it if you have something else, plenty people have joined and just let their account slip (we had 100,000 users 9 months ago, we now have 49.500) so not everyone that joins thinks its great, obviously i do but im biased lol.

when i had a console, bcg was THE tracker, i could find the old classic games for ps2 only there, and as i could see recently, its the best for console games.

unfortunetaly i have been kicked out cos of inactivity, since i had to give my console back :/

Yes it is it has games and lots of them for people that enjoy gaming i have yet to see a general tracker top any of trackers that specialise in one particular type of file

Yea, I have a really hard time finding xbox1 games. Seems BCG is the place to be if they cater to older games too. Hope to try it out some day and see.

Indeed. Luckily, it seems that they do occasionally open sign-ups during special holidays. :P

However, I remember reading somewhere that the script handling open-signups is broken and the staff have yet to fix it. Hope that'll be resolve soon before those holidays come around.

as far as im concerned we are never opening again.

Invites yes (but few and far between)

Open sign ups, very very unlikely.

If you get the opportunity to get an invite, do not turn it down.

Scene trackers will do you well for the latest stuff, but BCG is the first stop if you are ever /looking/ for a game.

Ah, that's sad to hear.

Will still remain hopeful though. :P Very, very unlikely means that there's still a chance!

well i never say never, or i would look a fool if i went back on it, im sure that if we did open someone would drag my last post up and haunt me with it (if i had said never).

i have to say though, most of the staff agree that we shouldnt open up again.

BCG is the Holy Grail of games of any platform because other trackers have incompleted collections.

Well, if that's what the staff decided, then I guess it's all for the greater good of the site. If you guys are doing fine currently, then I see no reason to argue the staff's decision. :P

However, I cannot say that I agree with such a decision because there are plenty of users, some of who will truly be valuable ones, that are willing to try out BCG. I'm not saying this solely because I am not a member there but rather because I always think that occasional fresh blood is always a good idea. In fact, to be honest, I rarely play games and the ones that I do are MMOs so I always end up buying the game anyway. ;)

Anyhow, your input in this thread is greatly appreciated. Take care!

well i said "most" staff.

thats the great thing about running a tracker, not only do the members differ on what should be done, but the staff do as well.

Only last night a sysop said we should open up soon for 5000 members lol

so like i say, i never say never, because you never know what the consensus will be from one day to the next.

and yeah i know, we have went about it totally the wrong way, but i wanted to reach the landmark 100,000 members so used to put a lot of torrents onto mininova etc. in hindsight i shouldnt have done either. but we live and learn i suppose.

we now have 49500 members, 95% of them are good members, or they keep by the rules anyway and thats all we can expect of them.

Open signups just bring to many problems as well, cheats, traders, account sellers, dupe accounts to do those 3 with.

I was pretty active in BCG since Jan 07 till May 07. In Jan 07 I got my xbox360, in May 07 with the spring update I was banned from the Live! service (if do not have a xbox360 o don't know, they banned people who had modified they firmware to play "pirated" game releases). After that I think I only turned the 360 on 2 times, and that was to see some DVD's. Hence didn't needed games, so... account erased by inactivity.

But while I was a gamer, BCG was and had everything I wanted. At least till May 07 they had a nice community (I hope it still has). So yeah, I think that having BCG is necessary.

BCG is easily the best place to get any game other than new scene released things.

As for whether BCG is necessary or not, I suppose it depends what you're looking for.

Blackcats sure is the best when it comes to games, no doubt about it :)

I've had an account there for some time (some fecker stole my nick, though :(), and I love it there <3 I had some problems with the seed system, cause I was (and still is) unable to get connectable due to my ISP, so I have to seed for days to make it up.
But! That's not necc. a bad thing, not at all. The selection is awesome, their peerlists are very very decent (sometimes ~1000 peers at one torrent), the speeds are far from bad, even really old torrents, and they're "packing" once a week or so, like NDS games, 10 at a time.

When it comes to games, BCG is truly the best, you can't compare it to bG and U-G imo

i get all my psp games there :) , not all the releases are scene too so you get a much wider choice of stuff to dl. the only thing i have against it is the look of it (design). they need to improve on that one :)

I lost 3 years of my life to that bloody game, the management side is what made it though (the nes and the newest version didnt have it in, so it didnt last 2 minutes for me)

20 year career, got the england job, world cup in the 19th year, beat everyone 20+-0 all the way up to the final.

Played Scotland, i have 50 shots on target, they had 1, Jim Leighton had a blinder and i lost 1-0.

Lets just say i wasnt very bloody happy, especially as i didnt get another chance in that career lol.
