Hi, a while ago i posted a thread talking about my CPU spiking and freezing. Its doing something similiar again but it isnt making any of the programmes i am using freeze. But what is concerning me is that im watching both cores go up 100% and then the temp starts going up towards the 50s and i have to keep my Heatsink on full whack.
I opened up the task manager to have a look at what was being used by the CPU to make it spike like that and it said something about Kernel services and it was getting numbers as high as 80:wacko:
wait now my pc has just froze! Im not sure whats making it do this but im getting really concerened.

My specs are;
Manufacturer:WinFast
Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ (2 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory:4070MB RAM

Operating System:Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.071009-1548)

vsita sometimes has some spikes related to the HDD trying to index some dirs, but usually that's only on the first days after a fresh install.
Are you using some resources monitor, like smartguardian or everest ?

Disable NOD and see if the problem disappears.

try to disable windows defender scans, they are resource hungry.
